Confident Steps Towards a Career

Achieving stable employment is often a key step in a youth’s path to independence. YES collaborates with workforce initiatives, such as TurnAround Tuesday (an award-winning job readiness program through BUILD), to help youth find jobs and access job training. We host employment workshops and invite outreach recruiters to meet with youth at the drop-in center. Through these partnerships, youth can enroll in job readiness cohorts that teach interviewing skills, connect them to apprenticeships, and even assist with job placement. Additionally, YES provides essentials such as bus passes for job searches, assistance with obtaining work documents, and even professional attire for interviews (through donated business clothing). By leveraging programs like TurnAround Tuesday and city youth employment programs, we empower YES participants to take confident steps toward a career or vocational training.
