MISSION & VISION
Youth Empowered Society is Baltimore’s first youth-focused drop-in center — and we’ve grown into something more. Today, YES operates as a housing stabilization organization, with 85% of our daily work focused on connecting young people ages 14–25 to housing, rental assistance, case management, and the long-term supports they need to stay housed. We meet youth where they are and walk with them toward stability.
YES is recognized on page 16 of the Abell Foundation’s 2024 Annual Report as Baltimore’s first drop-in center focused on the needs of homeless youth, providing case management, peer support, and services designed in consultation with youth who have experienced homelessness. Abell awarded YES $67,000 in 2024.
